The Love List's posts are selected and complied by our staff and ultimately approved by Founder and Editor Jessica Graves. We only feature things we genuinely love, and yes, we might turn you down! No, you cannot pay to be featured on The Love List. That's what advertising is for. If you would like to advertise with us, please email us at ads@thelovelist.net for an ad kit. Selling posts and editorial coverage destroys our integrity and the trust of our readers, who we value first and foremost. On occasion, we will do a post on behalf of our private sponsors, who are chosen with great care to make sure they are a good fit with our blog and our readers. These will always be clearly defined as sponsored posts. Oh, and one last thing - just because you send us a bit of swag in the mail or a press kit, we're in no way indebted to you to post about it. Sorry. Again, we only write about what we love. However, if you really do think we'd love your product, we want to know about it!
Giveaways:
Occasionally, in conjunction with our advertisers, or simply in partnership with companies we think are cool, we'll do product giveaways. Why? Because our readers love free stuff and great products we love get a little extra lovin'. We strive to keep our giveaways high-end and worthwhile. Giveaways take place both on the blog and on our twitter ("tweetaways"). No, we don't get paid to do these either. Winners are always privately notified by email or direct message (for our twitter winners) and are never publicly announced to respect our reader's privacy. If a winner doesn't respond within ten business days to our winner notification, then we go back and pick a new one. So, how do we pick a winner? Easy. We use something called the Random Number Generator. We enter the maximum number, which is how many entries are submitted, and then it spits out a random number. Then, we count down from top to bottom. The first entry is #1 and so on, all the way down. Whatever entry corresponds with the random number is our winner! Pretty simple. No, we don't rig them, no, we don't play favorites. It's all dumb luck, and we like it that way!

About Jessica Nell Graves:
Jessica Graves is a graphic designer and consultant for her company Front Porch Studio. She started The Love List to celebrate the new southern woman and the South’s chic mix of new and old. Jessica has been blogging since 2005 -- her first blog was called "I Do Declare!". Prior to that, she founded and ran (as a middle and high school student) an online e-newsletter (then known as an "e-zine", the precursor to blogs) called "Smudge" for girls her own age. Before she was even 14, she had interviewed everyone she deemed cool -- from the band Hanson to the male models featured in Britney Spears's music videos, all wrangled on her own tenacity.
From there, Jessica honed her writing and design skills in college by acting as Editor-in-Chief of her university newspaper and studying public relations and graphic design. In college, she began working part-time in retail and eventually found her way into visual merchandising and displays at a major department store. Relocating after a few productive years to another part of the state, Jessica then worked in retail as a freelance stylist and later buyer as she finished up college. Working in the retail landscape for over five years in so many facets eventually helped her hone in on her love for graphic design, display, and merchandising.
The Love List was founded in 2008 as a literal list of things Jessica loves and has since evolved greatly. The Love List has been featured in The Washington Post, The Seattle Times, The Boston Globe, The Minneapolis Star Tribune, The Independent Florida Alligator, Delightful Blogs, and numerous other blogs, most notably Desire to Inspire's Winks. The blog is what empowered Jessica to branch out into her own business as a freelance designer and consultant, and she has never once looked back.
Jessica has been entrenched in the blogging world for over five years now and in self-publishing even longer. She is available to companies small and large for consulting on social media and blogging.
