After a whopping five days back in Atlanta to (barely) rest on my laurels, I'm spinning on my heel and pointing myself North. This time though, it isn't the beach that's beckoning -- it's the promise of pickin' banjos. Saturday, on the state lines of Bristol Tennessee and Virginia, Mumford & Sons are hosting a stopover festival in the birthplace of country music, aptly dubbed Gentlemen of the Road. In addition to the headliners, the two stages will house guests like Justin Townes Earle, Dawes, Apache Relay, Jeff the Brotherhood, and tons of other ridiculously awesome folks... some of whom I've been lucky enough to see before, and others that have been on my bucket list for years. The town will be overtaken for the weekend, with lots of fringe shows, after parties, local food and libations, and you know, good times y'all. I'm arming myself with sunscreen and a thick skin (proverbially, since I'll be the only girl in our group...) and barreling headfirst into festival mode. It's only natural that a playlist be born out of the glorious excess of this coming weekend - it's an enviable Thanksgiving spread of amazing artists. "So pile on those mashed potatoes, and another chicken wing... I'm having a little bit of everything..."
