Cheers to Town and Country for bringing in Editor-in-Chief Stephen Drucker (formerly of House Beautiful.) Only his second issue, Stephen has delivered a knockout August edition, featuring one of the most covetable estates ever to grace the magazine's pages: the Miles Redd designed Boxwood.

The article, written by Julia Reed (she's on a roll on the mags this summer!), showcases the inspired Atlanta mansion, a 1920s Philip Schutze creation. Boxwood is nestled among five acres of pristine landscaping, including gardens, pear trees, fountains and even a koi pond. It's a veritable Eden in the East, and that's just the outside.
Owners Danielle and Glen Rollins contracted with legendary designer Miles Redd to decorate Boxwood's prodigious interior. Redd embraced the Chinese-infused Georgian architecture with striking color schemes and unconventional textures. The living-room walls are upholstered in turquoise satin, providing a beautiful contrast with the tobacco-hued velvet sofas. Prior to reading this article, it's likely I would have laughed at the notion of satin on walls, but they look incredible. Two of my guilty pleasures, animal prints and floral accents, can also be found scattered among many of the rooms. My belief in Miles' genius is sealed.
Spearheading bold ideas appears to be a key component in creating yet another masterpiece. A red library is indeed brave, but it was part of Danielle's initial vision. Her intuition was verified after Redd took her to visit one in New York. Complete with brass strips and red lacquered bookshelves, the library pays homage to Albert Hadley's work for Brooke Astor in the 70s.
Irreverent accents and meticulous details add to the house's overall mystique. From a pony skin carpet in the dressing room (controversial, yes) to a mural of zodiac sign constellations on the bar ceiling, there is nothing remotely banal about Boxwood. Danielle and Miles even made a point to use green in every room as a tribute to the estate's name.
The collaborating efforts of Miles and Danielle have left me decidedly awestruck. While a big budget doesn't always buy good taste, Boxwood is a textbook example of funds used to enable luxury and style of the highest caliber. -Katie Diaz

I love the fact that they use such strong colours in quite a traditional setting.

Love, love, love that wall of fashion illustrations in the bathroom! Thanks for sharing - now I've got to get my hands on Town and Country!
Meg and Shannon- the bathroom is one of my favorites too but it's so hard to choose!! I would never want to leave that house if I lived there!
I can't help but think it is unfair to a magazine to post each and every picture from a unique spread. Shouldn't bloggers at least wait until the magazine has been out for a few weeks?
I saw this and LOVE what he did! Absolutely gorgeous!
Home run. Total home run. I knew he would bring T&C back from the vintage. Kudos to you for posting.
