Alexis with his CFDA Accessory Designer of the Year award
When Alexis Bittar started selling jewelry on St. Marks Place in Manhattan at age 13, I doubt he ever imagined his jewelry would one day be featured in Vogue, walk down the runway of Bryant Park and win him the 2010 CFDA's Accessory Designer of the Year award -- but it did. Almost 30 years after he got his start, Alexis Bittar is now a household name. Take a look into any of his creative spaces, and you immediately know Alexis left his mark wherever he goes. From his messy Brooklyn studio to his stylish Manhattan stores, I'm enamored with it all.

I love the way Alexis' sculptural creations are displayed in each of his stores. There is plenty of light in each case to show off the color and delicate design of his pieces. All the while, the glass is a quiet reminder that each piece's beauty equates it to a piece of art, and after looking at Alexis' studio, I realized each piece truly is just that -- a piece of art. Whether it's a pin, necklace, cuff, or earrings, they have all been hand crafted with the utmost attention to detail and integrity of design.

Alexis' jewelry has the same appeal to me as candy did when I was a child. The color combinations and composition of each piece leaves me lusting for more. Online shopping -- here I come! -Mary Mentz

No, a girl can only dream! The pictures of his studio are thanks to the lovely New York Social Diary's feature on Alexis.
That would be an amazing dream indeed. In any case, thanks for the write-up, now I know where my next paycheck is going!!!!

We just did a grecian inspired article with Belles&Rebelles and Megan choose the Alexis Bittar gold agate ring. His jewelry is the sweet spot of price & design.
