Loving this idea from a late issue of Domino magazine. Opting instead for a white poinsettia, they clipped the stems, tossed the eyesore of a foil pot, and tucked each bloom into a pretty fluted vase. Easy, cheap, and elegant! Remember to carefully heat the trimmed stems over a flame, or else they won't last in water.

Pretty!! I love this idea. Great tip!
Love it! I saw something similar (in Real Simple I believe) that I wanted to try this year
who knew about heating the stem?
Looks great!!
Wow, what a great & easy idea! I love it so much more than the whole plant for sure!
So pretty!
So you basically burn off the stem? Anyone know the science behind this?
