That may be the case in her eyes, but to me, this place is the best-looking work in progress I've ever seen! Her style truly is made up from a number of eclectic elements that come together in a beautiful way. Enjoy these photos of her home and Erin's notes on each room - some of her ideas are killer (like the Jonathan Adler papered cabinet backs), and her place is one of those great mixes of high and low that can only come from an extremely chic and well-trained eye.
"I am about to paint this room Kelly green- I think it will make the white and navy really pop. I based the design of this room of the framed cuts of 1960's vintage wallpaper that I have for sale in my Etsy shop. The bedding was on sale at Linens and Things and the pillows are by Twinkle Living. The lamps were Homegoods finds and the shades from Pottery Barn to which I glue gunned navy grosgrain ribbon detail. The chandelier was only $99 from Great Chandeliers.com and adds some sparkle and romance. Rug by Dash & Abert"
"Ahhh, this is a big "in progress" room and a healthy mix of high/low- the rug is a great wool/jute weave from West Elm and the sofa and chairs are from Boston Interiors. I found these great cut felt pillows and the starburst mirror at Pier 1, believe it or not (each under $40!). We love the few bigger splurges- 2 DWR sapien shelves and our Crate and Barrel Seguro coffee table. The grommet top curtains are IKEA and the glass ball hardware is JCPenney (amazing source for window treatments on the cheap). The mantle scape is all white objects, including a ceramic glove mold I bought at Brimfield this year and a bleached starfish I bought on a trip to the Cape with my husband. To come- great new throw pillows for the couch and new lighting!"
"I used all white and silver frames in various sizes and shapes to create this gallery style hanging in my foyer- I like to use a mix of photos and art to create walls like this to mix up the imagery and visual texture."
"Our kitchen is pretty big- painted it Ben Moore London Fog and focused on using black and white- the various plates were Homegoods finds, the chalkboard was originally gold , so I painted it with OneShot enamel in white for a glossy lacquer finish. You can see into the pantry which is probably my favorite area and what sold me on the house. The bar table is Boston Interiors and can be folded in half to create a console table- the stools are from IKEA and have handy removable slipcovers for washing off greasy handprints!"
"Lots of work done in here- painted the cabinets white and removed large doors below to build in a wine rack and wine cooler. I wallpapered the backs of the cabinets in a silver and white bamboo trellis paper by Jonathan Adler. I put in a vintage looking schoolhouse pendant from Restoration Hardware and found exact replicas of the original 1920's hardware in chrome at House of Antique Hardware- I LOVE this space."For more photos of Erin's home, including details and close-ups of rooms, architectural details, and additional spaces, check out the constantly updated Blogger's Home Tour Flickr set here. MIMILEE- I'm glad you found me too! I love to hear from new readers!
Light and clean lines. I'd love to see more of her personality shine through personal touches.
The pantry must be a joy to have! I can only imagine many an elegant evening starts there with a discreet "pop" of a cork and the tinkle of crystal glasses... . Nicely done.
love, love it!
Can't wait to see the bedroom with green walls..bet that will really make the bedding pop!
