I just purchased this lovely bamboo side table that is painted a horrendous shade of brown for a mere 25 bucks. It is in great shape and very sturdy, but obviously, I'm going to need to re-paint it. However, I need the help of my chic readers - so many of you have such impeccable taste, I'd be remiss not to ask y'all what you would do with it. Of course, there is always the gloss-it-white route, and while that very may well be the best way to go, I'd love to hear your ideas about it - not just what color to paint it, but what function it would serve in your own place, how you would accessorize it, or anything else you have to offer! I'm all ears!

you really can't go wrong with gloss *any* color with faux bamboo, but other than that, i can't really say because it really depends on the environment it's going into. maybe just try to pick up whatever accent color you have going on in the room and gloss away! (white, yellow, red- whatever- they all work!) it is an *accent* table after all.
i recently had a pair of glossy black faux bamboo tables in my living room, with smoked glass tops- they were very sexy, and a refreshing change to the classic white we are used to seeing.
oh and good buy- 25 bucks is s STEAL!
Turcoise. Gloss. Zebra skin rug.
Hey! I finally came over and have been loving your new blog! I haven't been blogging much myself lately. I am currently decorating my new house and I just looked through your flickr set and we have so many of the same pictures saved.
I can't wait to see all these things come together for you. The table is adorable and I would paint it a pale aqua blue, maybe to coordinate with some of the pinks you like.
If you want to chat decor, e-mail me at preppychicblog@gmail.com. I got some pieces at an antique store this weekend that I am trying to decide what color to paint as well.
I see green - a bright green - but I think it completely depends on the other furnishings and design elements in the room. White is definitely one route I'd consider, too. Good luck! I love the table.
oh my gosh! it's a vintage "hekman".

maison - I'm going for a resorty, palm beach vibe - nothing too lilly pulitzer per se, just something upbeat and resort without being cheesy. it is a good buy, huh? i just saw a pair of these go for over 1300 bucks at pieces in atlanta!
@champagne blonde - i'm definitley doing the zebra rug. no doubt.
@lori marie - I'll have to take your word for it, how do you know??
@ Allie & Ashley - thanks girls! you know I'm always wanting y'alls input :)
hi! i just came across your blog! its quite lovely! i really like this table! right now i'm really into bamboo chairs... and now tables! stop by my blog somtime and say hello! :)
I love your blog! I am no designer but I have been liking gloss yellow or even pink as an extra punch of color in a room with piece like this one. I would use it as place to keep several small votives and a few (3) choice vases with a small number of fresh daisies, maybe with a small grouping of books I read too.

Let us know what you transform it into :)
